Cody Mizelle brings more than a decade of experience in real estate finance, acquisitions, and investment management to Viking Mergers & Acquisitions as an Advisor. His background spans underwriting and structuring complex transactions, originating debt and equity capital, and overseeing investment management activities for both middle-market and institutional investors. Over the course of his career, Cody has evaluated and overseen more than $2B in transactions, developing a disciplined, analytical approach to assessing operations, cash flow, risk, and value creation while guiding stakeholders through complex deal processes.
Cody began his career on the lending side, underwriting commercial real estate and commercial & industrial loans for a regional bank based in Washington, D.C. In this role, he developed a strong foundation in credit analysis, business operations, and financial performance – experience he continues to leverage when evaluating closely held businesses, identifying operational strengths, and anticipating diligence and execution considerations throughout a transaction. Prior to joining Viking, Cody held senior roles across acquisitions, capital markets, and investment management, including serving as Vice President at a multifamily investment firm and as a Portfolio Manager for a Fortune 500, nationally recognized financial services platform. His experience spans the entire transaction lifecycle, encompassing valuation, underwriting, due diligence, capital structuring, performance optimization, and disposition strategy, with a focus on managing timelines, mitigating risk, and driving efficient, well-executed outcomes.
Cody earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Florida Atlantic University, graduating magna cum laude. While attending FAU, he was a student-athlete and member of the university’s baseball team. He was also recognized as Florida Atlantic University’s Business Leader of the Year in 2015 and has successfully passed Levels I and II of the Chartered Financial Analyst Program. Cody holds an active Florida Real Estate License and is passionate about helping sellers and buyers navigate an increasingly complex transaction landscape with clarity and confidence. Cody resides in Tampa, Florida with his wife, Sarah, their son, Cade, and their dog, Willa. Outside of the office, he enjoys staying active, running, hunting, and spending time with family and friends.
