At Viking Mergers & Acquisitions, we believe in the power of community and the impact of giving back. Each year, our commitment to these values culminates in our “Friends of Viking” event, a special gathering where we come together with our staff, clients, business partners, and friends to connect and celebrate our collective spirit of generosity.
Involving Our Community in Charitable Choices
Viking M&A President, Jay Offerdahl, often says, “We are at our best when we are generous with others.” So, we take a unique and inclusive approach to philanthropy. In the months leading up to our “Friends of Viking” event, the Viking Advisors nominate and vote for charities they believe merit our support. This process results in selecting five deserving charities each year, which we then showcase at the event.
Every attendee receives symbolic donation chips at the start of the event to create an interactive and personal giving process. Attendees use the chips to indicate their preferred charities, giving them a say in where we direct our charitable funds. This method ensures that our giving aligns with our values and resonates personally with our Viking community.
Our Impact This Year
After this year’s event, Viking proudly donated nearly $25,000, distributed among these five chosen charities:
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
Helping advance cures and prevention methods for pediatric catastrophic diseases, St. Jude ensures no child is denied treatment based on race, religion, or financial ability.
Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R.)
O.U.R. plays a vital role in the global fight against sex trafficking and exploitation, rescuing thousands of survivors across 30 countries and all U.S. states.
Piedmont Animal Rescue
Dedicated to rehabilitating and rehoming lost and abandoned animals, Piedmont Animal Rescue is a beacon of hope for pets in need.
Least of These Carolinas (LOT Carolinas)
Focused on supporting children in foster/kinship care, LOT Carolinas addresses their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs through community efforts.
Teal Diva
Supporting those affected by ovarian cancer, Teal Diva connects survivors, offering mental and emotional support throughout their journey.
In addition to these primary charities, this year, Viking also contributed to the Isabella Santos Foundation, The Salvation Army, and the Ella Foard Foundation for a total of nearly $30,000 in donations.
