Michael Purcell joins Viking Mergers & Acquisitions as a Senior Advisor, bringing a wealth of leadership experience from a career spanning Fortune 500 corporations and dynamic entrepreneurial businesses. His multi-functional expertise encompasses sales, marketing, operations, product management, finance, and strategy, providing him with a holistic view of business value creation.
Michael has held key leadership roles across a range of industries, including specialty chemicals and materials, capital equipment, pharmaceuticals, pharmacy automation technology and consumer financial services. He has honed his skills at industry-leading corporations including DuPont, General Electric, and Danaher Corporation, allowing him to quickly assess a business from multiple perspectives and identify key levers for maximizing its value.
Michael is experienced in both corporate buy and sell-side M&A transactions and has previously advised entrepreneurs on the sale of their businesses. He has also served as a fractional Chief Marketing Officer for mid-sized businesses, collaborating with CEOs and owners to develop and execute growth plans that increased the value of their companies. This firsthand experience in preparing a company for its most important transaction gives him a practical, results-oriented perspective that directly benefits Viking clients.
Michael earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University and his MBA from the University of Chicago. In their leisure time, he and his wife, Suzanne, enjoy exploring the beautiful Carolina coastal region, mountain hiking, traveling, and spending time with their four children.
