Local dry utility underground contracting firm, Major Contractors, has officially been sold to a new owner through Viking Mergers & Acquisitions, a middle market M&A firm based out of Charlotte, NC. Major Contractors specializes in duct banks, conduit construction and site lighting installation. Founded in 2001, Major Contractors has grown into one of the most respected and well-known electrical contractors in Charlotte due to former owners, Lisa and David Jackson.
After owning Major Contractors for 7 years, Lisa and David Jackson made the decision to pursue new endeavors and sell their business. Lisa and David knew they didn’t want to try and sell the business on their own so they enlisted the help of Peter T. Keretsis, a partner at Viking Mergers & Acquisitions. “Lisa and David had a great business,” says Peter T. Keretsis, “With strong sales and revenues in a booming marketplace, I knew we’d have no problem selling Major Contractors. We just needed to find the right buyer for this niche business.”
After just a few months on the market, that buyer came forward with an offer to purchase. The buyer, Dave Gable, comes from Corporate America and was anxious to try his hand at entrepreneurship. “Dave is a great match for our business and we are excited to see what he will accomplish in the future,” says Lisa Jackson, former owner of Major Contractors. Dave Gable plans to grow the business and further develop a presence in Charlotte and other Southeastern markets.
