We Have Selected a Recipient For Our Spring 2019 Entrepreneur Endorsement Scholarship!

Congratulations to Amanda Anaya of the University of North Carolina Asheville

At Viking Mergers & Acquisitions, we believe in cultivating the next generation of entrepreneurs. Small businesses are the heart of the American economy, and to support the future of small business owners, our firm created the Entrepreneur Endorsement Scholarship. Founded in August 2015, the goal of the Entrepreneur Endorsement Scholarship is to help young entrepreneurs pay for their education while also promoting a strong community of passionate and innovative millennial entrepreneurs.

The selection of the recipient has been a long and difficult process. Seeing what the future of small business looks like for America is truly inspiring, especially when there are so many dedicated applicants to choose from. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our applicants for taking the time to apply and praise you for your talent, hard work, and commitment.

After carefully considering a number of impressive applicants, we are excited to announce the official winner of the Spring 2019 Entrepreneur Endorsement Scholarship: Amanda Anaya!

Amanda is a senior at the University of North Carolina at Asheville and is going to graduate in May 2019.  Amanda transferred over to UNCA after her gap year after graduating from middle college. During her gap year, she took various classes because she was unsure of what she wanted to major in, causing her to get her real estate license and a notary license. She finally realized that her Management degree is broad enough to cover all her favorite fields.

After graduating from UNCA, she would like to move back home to Charlotte in order to get either a marketing or human resource job – she is leaning more towards a marketing position in the real estate industry so that she can combine her skills. Amanda is interested in changing the real estate business to aim towards a younger generation of real estate agents and flipping houses.

Our scholarship essay asked applicants: If you could start a company or business with a celebrity (dead or alive), whom would it be and why? Also, what type of company or business would you start with that celebrity and why?

Here is an excerpt from Amanda’s winning essay:

“If I could start a company or business with any celebrity, I would start it with Barbara Corcoran because of her work ethic, determination, and wisdom. I value the fact that she was declined for Shark Tank, yet she still pursued the position and eventually attained it. When Barbara found out she was declined for another female to be on the seat of Shark Tank, she immediately wrote an email and made the secretary promise that she would print it out and walk it over to the studio owner. I strongly relate to this because when I want to achieve something, I will strive above and beyond to accomplish it. I relate to Barbara in many other ways. For example, Barbara started working in real estate in her early 20s, and I got my real estate license in my late teens. I am currently planning on continuing using real estate in my future after I graduate from university.”

Viking Mergers & Acquisitions offers the Entrepreneur Endorsement Scholarship on a bi-annual basis and encourages students to apply for the upcoming Fall 2019 semester. Congratulations again to Amanda Anaya and best of luck to all future applicants.
