Reed Kelly brings more than three decades of executive-level financial expertise to Viking Mergers & Acquisitions, along with the rare perspective of a business owner who has successfully navigated the full cycle of building, growing, and selling a company.
A Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and graduate of the University of Tennessee, Reed built a distinguished 25-year career in wealth management with companies such as Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo, rising to divisional leadership with responsibility for more than 200 professionals and over $100 million in annual revenue. That career took him across major markets, including Nashville, Knoxville, Charlotte, and Richmond, giving him a broad understanding of business across regions and industries.
After leaving wealth management, Reed channeled that same leadership into founding and growing his own company, which he successfully sold, giving him firsthand insight into exactly what his clients face when they begin considering an exit.
At Viking, Reed has advised on transactions involving enterprise-level companies with revenues exceeding $150 million and owner-operated companies with revenues under $5 million. He specializes in working with business owners throughout Middle and West Tennessee, guiding them through every aspect of the transition process with the clarity and confidence that only comes from having done it himself.
Reed and his wife, Polly, are the proud parents of four grown children: two sons who served in the United States Marine Corps and two daughters building careers in corporate America.
