Lean and mean administratively with four employees (not counting the owners), they schedule teams of subcontractors to do the physical work. These 1099 subcontractors (c. 25 strong) have been working with this firm for many years. Part of their success is the fact that they deliver consistent top results with these subs, and the high-quality workmanship is reflected in a high number of Google reviews with a 4+ out of 5 rating.
Great mix of new roof and re-roof work, as well as some repair requests. They do a fair amount of insurance work, and storms in this area can result in a lot of extra work…the pandemic was not an issue for them. In addition, for their long-standing clients they may weave in siding repair or replacement (Hardie plank or wood) as well as replace boardwalks to the beach.
Lots of work comes through relationships they have developed over 20 years with insurance adjusters, builders, real estate companies, private homeowners, etc. They get many referrals this way, while also bolstering their steady stream of work through the efforts of outside sales reps.
The owner commented that if they added several additional sales reps, the subcontractors they use have available capacity to do even more work for them. The owner simply doesn’t have the drive to do more.
